BASELINE TESTING MAKE-UP: Baseline Testing was held on Tuesday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 9, 2020. A make-up opportunity for the Baseline Test was also provided on Thursday, September 17, 2020 during the scheduled class time. Students accessing the Baseline Test outside of the LIVE session will be reported to Testing and may have their score invalidated. This has already been the case with a few students. Remember, the Baseline Test is governed by Florida Statute and must be completed during a LIVE testing session. The next opportunity to make-up the Baseline Test will be on Monday, September 28, 2020.
MODULE 1 TEST MAKE-UP: Module 1 Test Make-up opportunity was provided on Thursday, September 17, 2020. The 26 question multiple choice test was made available to students on two occasions for a total of 33.5 hours. The average completion time was less than 20 minutes. Advanced notice was provide multiple days in advanced of the original test date and the make-up test date. No future opportunity will be provided on this test.
MODULE 2 TEST MAKE-UP: Module 2 Test Make-up will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Anyone who currently has a zero on the Module 2 Test will need to take the test on the make-up day otherwise the zero will permanently remain in the gradebook. The make-up test will appear in the Teams assignments from 7:15 AM to 11:59 PM on the make-up test date provided.
MODULE 1 & 2 EXIT TICKET AND ASSIGNMENT GRADES: All Module 1 & 2 Exit Tickets and Assignments are closed. Sufficient time was provided to students to complete the exit tickets and assignment. All students who entered the class late should have received an informational email from me.
DAILY CLASS ATTENDANCE: For attendance, students must check into to the Live session during class. Once checked in students will be able to exit the meeting to complete the work when dismissed. Students who do not stay in the virtual meetings will be documented. Mr. Ison will be available during the scheduled class time to help with any questions. Be sure to read over all of the questions prior to the end of class so that you may get any necessary assistance while available. Just as a reminder failure to attend class regularly will result in a student's name being submitted to Truancy, which could result in a student's driver's license being revoked.
SUBMITTING ASSIGNMENTS: Clicking the submit button in Teams does not equate to submitting the assignment. Each Exit Ticket, Assignment and Test must be completed in Forms and submitted prior to the due date and closing date. Students have been continually advised to click the box to be emailed a receipt for their submission. Without the receipt claims for submission will not be considered valid.
MODULE 2 NOTES (BRICK AND MORTAR ONLY): Brick and mortar classes need to have their Module 2 Cornell Notes in class this week for grading (optional). These will likely be graded on Monday, September 21 (2nd, 5th and 7th periods) and Tuesday, September 22 (6th period).
MODULE 3 NOTES: All Module 3 notes will be available under the files tab for viewing by the day they are covered in class. It is still imperative that students join class while notes are covered. There is information and explanations that are not provided in the notes that could appear on future tests. It is still a requirement for students to attend LIVE sessions at their scheduled time each day and remain in the LIVE session until dismissed.
MODULE 3 EXIT TICKETS AND ASSIGNMENTS: Module 3 Exit Tickets and Assignments will open at 7:15 AM on the day indicated and will be due by 11:59 PM in accordance with the Exit Ticket and Assignment details provided in Teams. Late penalties will apply in accordance with the syllabus. The only exceptions are absences with proper documentation (i.e. a note from doctor/dentist stating the student was seen the specific date of the absence). Note, students with extended time accommodations must request the accommodation prior to the assignment is due. Lesson 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3 Exit Tickets are past due. The 3-2 Epithelial Tissues Assignment is past due.
MODULE 3 TEST AND CLOSING: Module 3 Test and Closing will be on Friday, September 25, 2020. The test will become available at 7:15 AM, due by 2:00 PM and close at 11:59 PM. If the test is not completed by closing a zero will be applied. Be sure to submit your test BEFORE the closing time! Remember that all exit tickets and assignments will close by 2:00 PM on the test date (Friday, September 25, 2020), and nothing can be submitted after this time. Students with accommodations will not be provided extended time after the closing date and time.
MIDTERM GRADES: Mid-term grades were submitted Friday, September 18, 2020. Mid-Term grades included Module 1 and Module 2 and reflect approximately 50% of the grade for the 1st Quarter. The grades did include the Module 2 Test from Tuesday, September 15 and the Module 1 Test Make-up from Thursday, September 17. Students who are in danger of failing will still have Module 3 and 4 to pull grades out for the quarter. Those who have been completing the work assigned will qualify for the 1st Quarter Recovery Test. Remember, a student must submit every Exit Ticket and Assignment prior to the closing date for each module to qualify for test remediation. Student progress reports reflecting a D or F shall consider these Mid-Term Progress Reports as a Scholarship Warning. Progress reports should appear in Focus this week for viewing.
