Be sure to read through ALL of the information below. Failure to read through the information provided could negatively affect student performance and grades. Emails with questions that were explicitly addressed in this post will be responded to with "Please refer to the Weekly Announcement." If you have ANY questions not addressed in the Weekly Announcement you may email me directly at [email protected].
BASELINE TESTING MAKE-UP: There are a handful of new students to the course that have not yet had the opportunity to take the Baseline test. There are also several who have been provided multiple opportunities to take the Baseline Test during class time. Students accessing the Baseline Test outside of an in-person or LIVE session will be reported to Testing and may have their score invalidated. This has already been the case with a few students. Remember, the Baseline Test is governed by Florida Statute and must be completed during a LIVE or in-person testing session. According to District Testing, the LAST OPPORTUNITIES to make-up the Baseline Test will be on Monday, January 25, 2021 and Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Any student who fails to take the Baseline Test will not be eligible for a Test Waiver for any future modules.
MODULE 9 TEST MAKE-UP: Make up for the Module 7 Test will be on Monday, January 25, 2021 only. Failure to take the Module 9 Test during this opportunity will result in a zero remaining in the grade for the remainder of the quarter. The make-up test will only be available from 7:15 AM to 11:59 PM. If the make-up test is not submitted by 11:59 PM then the system will no longer accept it. There will be NO extension of this time.
(YET ANOTHER) WARNING ABOUT TAKING TESTS ON TIME: Several students have continued to not take the tests as scheduled, though they are present in class the day of the test. Tests that are not submitted by 2 PM on the testing date or not taken on the scheduled testing date will be docked 20% in accordance with the syllabus for being late. If you are absent on the date of a test you must submit a district approved excuse note (i.e. note from your doctor stating you were seen) to receive full credit for the test. Remember, failure to take the test on a scheduled test date, excused or unexcused, may result in having to take an alternate test which may include all short or extended response questions.
MODULE 10 TEST & CLOSING: The Module 10 Closing will be on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. All exit tickets and assignments for Module 10 will close by 2:00 PM on the test date (Tuesday, February 2, 2021), and nothing can be submitted after that time. Students with accommodations will not be provided extended time after the closing date and time.
DEADLINES: All Exit Tickets are due on the date they are assigned by 11:59 PM. All Assignments are due the following class period by 11:59 PM. This is not to be confused with the closing date. The closing date is when the assignment will no longer be accepted. There will be no extensions past the closing date.
MISSING GRADES: Missing Exit Ticket or Assignment grades may be due to either marking the wrong class period on the assignment or not submitting the assignment on time. If you have a zero in the gradebook for an Exit Ticket or Assignment AFTER Monday, January 25, 2021 and you submitted the assignment you MUST forward the email receipt to me. A link to the assignment will NOT be acceptable. Remember, late Exit Ticket and Assignments may be penalized up to 20% in accordance with the syllabus.
HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS (AND STUDENTS): Earlier this year I posted the following article, Helpful Information for Parents, help keep parents informed of what the course is about. The article is also helpful for students, especially with the number recently added to the course. If you are a new student to the course please take the time to read the article. This will help you catch up with insights that other students have already been given or figured out over the first semester.
COMMENTING ON TEAMS PAGE: Please refrain from commenting on the Teams page. Comments pertaining to one student does not need to become information shared with the entire class. If there is something you need to inform me of you may email me at [email protected]. I have tried to leave this option open so that students may ask questions during LIVE sessions in the chat that pertain to the lesson (not to inform me why you were late, problems with mics, saying hello, etc). Comments made on assignments or posts change the order in which they are viewable by students in the Teams page. You may still use the reaction buttons as this does not disrupt the Teams page.
