Be sure to read through ALL of the information below. Failure to read through the information provided could negatively affect student performance and grades. Emails with questions that were explicitly addressed in this post will be responded to with "Please refer to the Weekly Announcement." If you have ANY questions not addressed in the Weekly Announcement you may email me directly at [email protected].
INSTRUCTIONAL CHANGES DUE TO COVID: Due to COVID I will be quarantined at home until further notice. This will have no effect on Duval Homeroom (DH) students. Brick and mortar (BAM) students will be provided instruction via Teams each day during class. Prior to quarantine select students from each class were provided instructions to log into the interactive TV and associated computer. This process was already used successfully during 2nd, 5th and 6th periods on Friday, February 5, 2021. If there are any technical issues each student has been provided a laptop, which they have been directed to bring to school each day, so that they may sign directly into Teams. Students will need to bring head phones to reduce/prevent feedback during during instruction. The alternative delivery method was already used during 7th period on Friday, February 5, 2021. BAM students will need to show maturity and self-discipline during this time to keep up with their assignments. I will still be available for questions via our LIVE sessions during our scheduled class time and as always through email at [email protected].
MODULE 10 TEST MAKE-UP: Make up for the Module 10 Test will be on Monday, February 8, 2021 only. Failure to take the Module 10 Test during this opportunity will result in a zero remaining in the grade for the remainder of the quarter. The make-up test will only be available from 7:15 AM to 11:59 PM. If the make-up test is not submitted by 11:59 PM then the system will no longer accept it. There will be NO extension of this time.
MODULE 11 TEST & CLOSING: The Module 11 Closing will be on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. All exit tickets and assignments for Module 11 will close by 2:00 PM on the test date (Tuesday, February 16, 2021), and nothing can be submitted after that time. Students with accommodations will not be provided extended time after the closing date and time.
DEADLINES: All Exit Tickets are due on the date they are assigned by 11:59 PM. All Assignments are due the following class period by 11:59 PM. This is not to be confused with the closing date. The closing date is when the assignment will no longer be accepted. There will be no extensions past the closing date.
HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS (AND STUDENTS): Earlier this year I posted the following article, Helpful Information for Parents, help keep parents informed of what the course is about. The article is also helpful for students, especially with the number recently added to the course. If you are a new student to the course please take the time to read the article. This will help you catch up with insights that other students have already been given or figured out over the first semester.
COMMENTING ON TEAMS PAGE: Please refrain from commenting on the Teams page. Comments pertaining to one student does not need to become information shared with the entire class. If there is something you need to inform me of you may email me at [email protected]. I have tried to leave this option open so that students may ask questions during LIVE sessions in the chat that pertain to the lesson (not to inform me why you were late, problems with mics, saying hello, etc). Comments made on assignments or posts change the order in which they are viewable by students in the Teams page. You may still use the reaction buttons as this does not disrupt the Teams page.
