DISTRICT END-OF-COURSE EXAM REVIEW: The District End-of-Course (DEOC) Review assignments will cover most of the Anatomy and Physiology curriculum. These reviews are due at the beginning of the start of the scheduled class after it is assigned. These reviews will close on Friday, April 29, 2022 (B-Day) and Wednesday, May 4, 2022 (A-Day) at the start of your scheduled class. Once you have started your DEOC the Reviews will no longer be accepted. The intention of the DEOC Reviews are to prepare students for the District End-of-Course Exam that counts toward 20% of a student’s overall grade for the year, the equivalent of an entire quarter's grade.
DISTRICT END-OF-COURSE EXAM: The District End-of-Course Exam (DEOC) is scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2022 (B-Day) and Wednesday, May 4, 2022 (A-Day). It is important that students attend class up to these dates for review and the date of the exam, complete each DEOC Review assigned, and ask questions where needed. The DEOC accounts for 20% of a student's overall grade for the course (equal to an entire quarter grade). Failure to take the DEOC may result in no credit being provide for the course (even if you had A's for Quarters 1-4). You have been well prepared for the DEOC. Finish strong! You are almost there!
4TH QUARTER GRADES: It is important that students complete their assessments by their designated closing dates during the 4th Quarter. These closing dates follow the routines established during the first three quarters, have been announced since the start of the 2nd Semester in January of 2022, and provided sufficient time to students that have not been excessively truant. The difference between "due dates" and "closing dates" has been explained excessively since the start of school in August, repeated each quarter, and repeated each module. Once a student has sat for the District End-of-Course Exam their 4th Quarter grade will be finalized.
ABSENCE/QUARANTINE: If you are absent from class or quarantined due to COVID-19 and told to work from home, you need to check the Weekly Announcement for what work will be covered in class each day. The notes will be posted in Teams under the Files tab. The assignments will appear in the Assignments section on Teams. You have access to a digital text book (Open Stax) via the link provided, on the class website (IsonBiology.com), on the course syllabus (located in the Class Material folder in the Files tab). There are also tutorials available on the class website.
HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS (AND STUDENTS): Earlier this year I posted the following article, Helpful Information for Parents, help keep parents informed of what the course is about. The article is also helpful for students, especially with the number recently added to the course. If you are a new student to the course please take the time to read the article. This will help you catch up with insights that other students have already been given or figured out over the first semester.
