Be sure to read through ALL of the information below. Failure to read through the information provided could negatively affect student performance and grades. Emails with questions that were explicitly addressed in this post will be responded to with "Please refer to the Weekly Announcement." If you have ANY questions not addressed in the Weekly Announcement you may email me directly at [email protected].
MODULE 3 ASMT RECOVERY OPPORTUNITY: With some of the shutdowns last week causing some confusion, though information was clearly provided, I am providing some grace for Module 3. If you currently have a zero on a Module 3 Assignment, you will have until Monday, October 3, 2022, at 7:15 AM to have that work submitted. The work will be considered late and a 20% late penalty will be applied to the assignments. Failure to make up the zero will result in the grade remaining as a zero. There will be no extension of this grace period as sufficient time was already provided! A late penalty was not applied to any assignment submitted late for Module 3 if submitted prior to the original closing date of September 22, 2022.
MODULE 3 TEST MAKE-UP OPPORTUNITY: If you did not take the Module 3 Test, there will be a make-up opportunity starting at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022, until 7:15 AM on Monday, October 3, 2022. If you have not taken the Module 3 Test and do not take it during this make-up window the grade in the gradebook will remain as a permanent zero! To clarify, this is a make-up, not a retake. After 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022, check your assignments for the make-up. Those that are scheduled for the make-up will also receive an email to their student email once it assigns at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022.
MODULE 4 TEST & CLOSING: The Module 4 Test will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. The test will become available at 7:15 AM, due by the end of class and close by 11:59 PM. If the test is not completed by closing a zero will be applied. Be sure to submit your test BEFORE the closing time! The Module 4 Closing will also be on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Any assignments not submitted by 7:15 AM on the closing day will permanently be recorded as a zero. This will be the last module of the 1st Quarter!
HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS (AND STUDENTS): To help keep parents informed please take the time to read the article Helpful Information for Parents. The article will also be helpful for students. Over the past few years I have received countless feedback from parents and students about it's usefulness in understanding how the course is run. The information provided in the article answers many of the frequently asked questions I receive.
ABSENCE/QUARANTINE: If you are absent from class for any reason you need to check the Weekly Announcement for what work will be covered in class each day. The notes will be posted in Teams under the Files tab. The assignments will appear in the Assignments section on Teams. You have access to a digital text book (Open Stax) via the link provided, on the class website (IsonBiology.com), on the course syllabus (located in the Course Documents folder in the Files tab). There are also tutorials available on the class website.
