Be sure to read through ALL of the information below. Failure to read through the information provided could negatively affect student performance and grades. Emails with questions that were explicitly addressed in this post will be responded to with "Please refer to the Weekly Announcement." If you have ANY questions not addressed in the Weekly Announcement you may email me directly at [email protected].
MODULE 8 TEST & CLOSING: The Module 8 Test will be available for an early administration on Thursday, December 8, 2022. The regularly scheduled Module 8 Test will be on Monday, December 12, 2022. The test will become available at 7:15 AM, due by the end of class and close by 11:59 PM during each administration. A zero will be applied if the test is opened and not submitted by the respective closing time. A zero will also be entered if it is not taken during either testing window. Be sure to submit your test BEFORE the closing time! The Module 8 Closing will be on Monday, December 12, 2022. Any assignments not submitted by 7:15 AM on the closing day will permanently be recorded as a zero. Any student opting to take the early test administration must have their work turned in prior to testing. Recovery point opportunities completed after opening the test will not be counted.
MAKE-UP TESTS/TESTING ISSUES: Students missing class or not completing tests as assigned will have a zero entered in the gradebook. Failure to complete the test when assigned as make-up will result in a late penalty on any further opportunity AND may result in the student taking a short/extended response version of the test. It has been stressed that you are to take the test on the test days in class. Some students are not doing so, instead having to be reminded to get on task or stop disturbing others. Students who are disturbing class during the test and do not submit their test on time will be marked as late. Students that are disturbing class will not be given a make up opportunity if it is not submitted and it will be noted as a "refusal to test." There is a noticeable pattern of certain students missing test days, therefore, students that are not present in class on test day will forfeit any Kahoot or Crossword recovery points for the module.
ABSENCE(S): If you are absent from class for any reason you need to check the Weekly Announcement for what work will be covered in class each day. Assignments will continue to appear in the Assignments section on Teams. Students missing class are expected to complete all assignments and tests. Students missing class are expected to read the available textbook and view available tutorials. Students have access to a digital text book (Open Stax) via the link provided, on the class website (IsonBiology.com), and on the course syllabus (located in the Course Documents folder in the Files tab). The tutorials are available on the class website. Remember, if you go over 5 days absent in a 30-day period or 10 days absent in a semester you may be in jeopardy of losing your driver's license per Florida Statute.
